FAQs

Who have you worked with?

I have collaborated with industry professionals, including graphic designer Lizzy Butler, graphic art director Sam Molesdale, and paper engineer David Hawcock. My work involves hand-painting period-authentic books for Film and Tv using gouache and Indian ink, ensuring they seamlessly blend into their intended visual worlds.

I am also a member of IATSE 891 in Vancouver Bc and the Graphics Union in the UK.

What are the benefits of traditional work?

Authenticity. While many contemporary illustrators work digitally, I use a hybrid approach: initial concepts are quickly communicated digitally, but all final images are created by hand using inks and gouache. This ensures an authentic, period-appropriate childrens book look while maintaining efficiency for the graphics team.

Why work with a specialist film illustrator?

Having worked as a production buyer, I understand the fast-paced, dynamic needs of the film industry. I adapt to feedback quickly and provide realistic timelines. While publishing deadlines can be flexible, film deadlines are not normaly, and I love the challange and collabrationthat film work can offers.

How do you collaborate with storytelling?

I work closely with graphic designers to help deliver the best possible project. I provide advice on pacing, bleed, and layout, adding depth and detail to non-hero pages while keeping the focus on key content. This approach reduces the workload for in-house teams and ensures a polished final Prop Book.
